Letter from the E.D. and Board President
As PRC enters its twenty-third year, we are keenly aware of the economic challenges that lie ahead and the ever-growing need for benefits counseling and employment services. This awareness, along with hard work, strategic planning and outstanding community support, has helped PRC chart its way through an unprecedented economic storm while continuing to deliver crucial services to those most in need.
The economic climate in 2009 continued to bring challenges to the non-profit community, including a significant contraction in government funding for social services. PRC engaged in many strategic discussions as to how we should best manage reduced resources while maintaining our depth of client services. The Board decided to address financial concerns through a combination of restructuring our programs and drawing from our reserves. Fortunately, we were able to accomplish this with minimal disruption to the level and quality of client services. PRC continues to anticipate as well as respond to change, while upholding its steadfast commitment to excellent client service.
We are proud of our rich history, deep roots in the community, and unwavering commitment to social and economic justice. PRC is a pioneer in the services we provide and remains a leader. It is important that we continue the momentum that we have built over the years and we are firmly committed to undertaking the significant work that still lies before us.
We thank you for enriching our vision and ensuring our future with your generous support.
